non-traditional + unposed MEMORIES

I work in a pretty “non-traditional” way. The way I shoot is very much based on real, raw and unposed moments. My goal is to capture the real laughs, the real hugs, the real smooches and the real you.

I will be your guide, I will essentially be your third wheel. I won’t be putting you into robotic positions and tell you not to move for 5 minutes as I circle around you and nudge your hand one inch to the left and worry about a little crinkle in your dress - it’s just not how I do things. I work with constant movement, chase the best lighting, I’ll jump in the ocean, get lost in tall grass, climb an ocean cliff, run with you, jump with you, celebrate with you, and do whatever I need to in the moment to capture your beautiful moments in the best way I know how. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible, while having the best time and capturing the real stuff. No fake stuff, no forced smiles, no forced kisses - just the real feels, fun, love, and laughter. This isn’t the “photoshop perfect” type of thing - it’s perfectly perfect in your own, unique way. I’m here to tell your actual love story, not a fake version of it.

I guide you guys into fun little actions and capture the real interactions in between. This won’t be a dreaded time for you where I stiffly pose you guys, I click my shutter, and it’s done - NO WAY. We’re here for a good time, to be ourselves and capture real moments in a carefree way. We shoot the shit, we explore a beautiful spot that resonates with you, we listen to tunes, we adventure, we laugh, we drink, we create, we celebrate. Whatever the day calls for, we celebrate you and the real reason you chose to document this time in your life.

Your elopement/wedding isn’t only about setting up the perfect photos and making sure you get that perfect shot, and a lot of photographers forget that. The art of documenting a day of vows, to me, is capturing the real moments, chasing the light at the end of the day to capture beautiful memories of the two of you, to capture an intimate moment you’re having while happy tears are running down your face, to capture the little details that you’ve worked so hard on planning, capturing you with your favorite people, and making sure it all happens in an organic and beautiful way without it feeling like a chore on what is supposed to be YOUR best day. Photos shouldn’t be this dragged out, uncomfortable thing that you dread the day of your wedding. It should be an enjoyable experience you can look back on with a smile on your face.

It is so important to me to give my couples photos that bring them back to that time in their life and the happiness they felt in the exact moments of the photos that they look back on. I want you to look back on your time with me and say, “Wow, look at us. We are so in love and we had so much fun, I wish I could go back.” Rather than, “Wow, what a beautiful photo.” This job means much more than that to me. I want you to feel something when you look at the photos we create together.

the friendship

I will become your friend and someone who truly cares about you. Capturing love and happiness lights up my life and being able to document it for my couples is an honor.

Connection and comfortability is everything. You have to choose a photographer who vibes with you and understands what is truly important to you and makes you feel that care-free and comfy feeling. I want to be someone you trust.

I will not show up to your wedding day as a stranger just to point and shoot and capture simple aspects of your day - I care so much more than that. This means a whole lot more to me. With my camera in hand all day - I will most likely be crying when you’re saying your vows, helping you with your bustle, sipping some champagne with your bridesmaids, cracking jokes with your family during family portraits, jigging with you on the dance floor, running away from the party with you guys to capture amazing art together whenever we get the chance, and much more. I am there to give you an enjoyable experience rather than just posing, pointing and shooting.

Getting to know you is a big part of that, and I make sure to make that part of my process when you’ve chosen me to be the person in charge of capturing your greatest memories. If you are looking for a photographer to just show up on your day to point, shoot and leave, I may not be for you - and that is okay! Everyone is different, and you want to make sure the photographer you choose is someone you trust to be in charge of capturing your memories.

The friendships I have gained through shooting weddings just lights me up. And continuing to hold onto those friendships is also important to me - one of my favorite things in the world is that I get the chance to continue to capture love even after the big day is over. I get to continue to watch my couples’ love grow, last and even create families. I seriously believe that I have the best job on the planet. I love love and being able to create my own art with it for a living is just the greatest thing.

I help you plan out your day, with some tips and tricks for lighting /timing /locations /etc; we go over a group shot list that you create so you don’t look back and say “oh man, I really wish I had a photo with Uncle Jim”.

In the end, the most important thing to me is your experience. Your day isn’t just about photos to me, it’s about the two of you and the real reason for the amazing

day - to vow and celebrate love!

I shoot to capture real, raw emotions, not just a pose to look back on as a “pretty photo”. My goal is to get to know you as a couple, become your friend, and capture who you really are. I want you to really remember the moments you’re looking back on and to remember the feelings you had on that day. I want you to see true versions of yourselves and the truest version of your love when you look back on your day.

I’m the type of person who will photograph your babies crying because I believe there is beauty in babies being babies.

here you will find out what to expect + how i like to do things

Photography isn’t just a job to me, it’s my passion » I have learned to soak it all in and truly make it an experience for all of my couples, little humans and families - and of course, myself.

I don’t just pose, point and shoot

I create more of an “experience” with my people » I make you do silly things, not because it looks great [because it doesn’t], I do them so i capture all of those raw moments and belly giggles in between » We’ll joke around and get to know one another » I become your third wheel » I’ll get you to squeeze each other harder and embrace a little tighter » I’ll have you interact with your newborn and do what you normally would to make your baby laugh while sitting in your own home.

i want you to look back on your photos and remember exactly how great life was at that point in time

All of these little moments are so important for me to capture, which is why I do things the way that i do. I make my work a fun time to remember, while getting better photos than I ever would if I were to pose you in very specific ways. I capture the true version of you, not a fake one.

I capture the interactions » the raw feelings » the pure joy » the love

So if you’re looking for a quick, point and shoot gal - I’m sorry to say, that it’s not me. I am an emotional and silly human » I get goosebumps when I capture a genuine moment; I smile when you smile; my heart beats faster seeing genuine happiness and love - and it is so friggen cool to me that this is my job.

So let loose! Embrace the love you have for your person, pups and fams » embrace the special moments and capture life with me.

what to expect when working with me

I take pride in what I do, and always set out to document your memories at the best of my ability / while making it a super fun and memorable adventure.

i’m picky because I care, a lot

i care about the light » time of day

i care about the colors » where we are and what you wear

i care about the location » where all the fun happens

i care about the comfortability » getting to know you is important to me

i care about our chemistry » being on the same page

i care about you » your feelings, your thoughts, your outlook

sun flares » wildflowers » mountain views » salty hair » and all of the tall grass

I know where I thrive, and that is in the great outdoors » so take me as your third wheel on your next adventure and lets have some fun.
