i’m here to help! here are some frequently asked questions that i get regarding my work and photography in general // don’t hesitate to reach out with any more questions!

» what is your shooting style?

So although this is kind of a complex question, I feel that the best way to describe my style is easy going, fun, documentary, intimate, and comfortable! I work with a lot of movement in my photos, simple moments, interactions, etc. So I will constantly have my couples moving and interacting with one another while I basically stand back and hype you up as your own personal "third wheel"! Capturing my couples focusing on one another, and not feeling "fake" or "forced" to create a pretty photo, is basically what is most important to me. Oh and lighting is EVERYTHING, fully expect for me to be chasing the best light that the sun shines on us all day.

» where are you based? do you travel? do couples ever travel to you?

I'm based out of THE smallest state in the US - Rhode Island! So YES - I absolutely travel! I love to travel. I am here for all of the views the world has to offer. And yes, I have couples who travel to me to elope or even just for a session while enjoying a little New England getaway by the ocean or in the mountains! Travel is a big, fat “yes”!

» how long have you been a photographer?

I’ve had a camera in my hand since I started film school in 2012 and I have had my own business since 2015.

» how many images do you include?

all packages and sessions vary - my sessions and packages are time based > so the longer your package, the more photos you will get. The longer you have me there, the more time we have to be patient with your wedding timeline / wild little ones / energetic pups, etc. regardless of the package you choose - I promise that you are always given every good photo that i capture. I do not like to give a cutoff number and start deleting perfectly good photos, I don’t believe in it. You hire me to capture memories for you, I will never delete perfectly good photos just because you didn’t choose a more expensive package. every session and every wedding day is different - candid moments occur at random / some people blink more than others / some children like getting their picture taken, while some don’t / etc - all I ask is to choose the package that best fits you - and I promise to capture every memory that I can for you.

» what is your turnaround time?

My turnaround time for sessions is 2 weeks, and for weddings it is 8-12 weeks. I always try my best to deliver in 1 week for sessions and 8 weeks or less for weddings. I deliver a preview with a decent amount of photos within the first week! My timing depends heavily on the time of year, my shooting schedule, my travel schedule, and the holidays / personal time! I give my all to each and every image and don’t like to rush the process!

» do you help with planning?

Heck yes! I like to help my couples every chance I get. I love to help with location, ceremony spots, lighting, outfit tips to help my couples get the best out of their photos, and even to just be of help and to be there to guide you through the process!

» what is included? are there any additional fees?

What you see is what you get! I don’t believe in hidden fees or charging you for printing rights after delivering the photos I’ve worked so hard to create for you. I do have some travel fees but I will always be clear if there are fees that need to be applied. After your day, I cull through the photos, deleting photos I don’t think are worthy and I edit the rest. I then send you a link that brings you to your final gallery, which remains open for 8 years. From the gallery, you are able to download “print” files and “web”files and are also able to order prints directly from the site!

» what if mother nature doesn’t cooperate?

unfortunately, mother nature isn’t always as sweet as we would like her to be. I always encourage embracing whatever weather comes our way and making the best of it. For smaller sessions, I will always reschedule with you if the weather is horrendous - but for weddings - rescheduling isn’t always in the cards for us - so embrace it! we will make the best out of it and utilize the indoors for sure - but I encourage you to remember - it’s your big day, make some memories and enjoy each and every moment. be strong, be unique and remember how romantic and memorable it was when you and your person kissed in the rain on your wedding day. turn a rainy situation into a sunny one, and remember what the day is all about - love.

» can you photoshop us?

I, very rarely, bring my photos into photoshop. I believe in raw beauty and believe in embracing it. I will edit a distracting object in the background, I will lightly edit skin and blemishes or anything that is temporary. If you are extra self-conscious about something, please let me know! I will be extra aware of it and make sure to make you feel beautiful!

» do you give RAW / unedited images?

I do not give out my RAW unedited images as I believe that shooting a photo is only half of the creative process. The creativity that goes into my images through my editing is a huge step and without it the photos are not complete. I never leave out important moments / group shots / or photos that I believe you will want, even if it isn’t the best photo. I have a great backup system for all of my photos so if I ever miss delivering a certain photo, I am more than happy to look for it - just ask!

» how do payments work?

I require a 15% deposit to officially book and then split the remaining amount you owe into two final payments! One being half way between your booking date and your event date and the last payment is due on the week or the day of your wedding, whichever you prefer.

» we're awkward, can you help us?

I actually can't tell you how often my couples think that they are awkward and then see their photos and are so pleasantly surprised. I promise you that you are not awkward as you think you are. Comfortability and chemistry is everything and if you aren't comfortable, of course you're feeling awkward! My job is to make you feel comfortable and show you guys a good time. I'm an awkward person myself haha so trust me, just stay true to you, be yourself, be open to the experience, remember why you're there and it all falls into place and allows us to create some beautiful art together.
